About

Prayer for St Helens is an initiative of St Helens Church Leaders Hub resourcing and facilitating united prayer across the Churches of St Helens’ Borough.

Who We Are

With a history of united prayer in St Helens, dating back to the 1980s, Prayer for St Helens was created in 2018 by St Helens Church Leaders to create, share and promote a variety of prayer initiatives, events, and resources that equip Christians in St Helens to pray together.

Over the past 5 years, Prayer for St Helens has grown to involve over 25 churches of all denominations right across St Helens.

As church leaders in St Helens, we cannot understate the importance of prayer, and so we hope that Prayer for St Helens will continue to be an invaluable resource that will be a catalyst to helping us all to pray with focus, commitment and passion.

As we pray for arts, for culture, for sport, for civic life, for our economy and our businesses, for education and our schools & colleges, for our faith and our churches, for our families, our communities & our town and for the well-being, health and care of our town, we cover our town and all its people in prayer.

We believe that as the church of Jesus Christ unites in prayer for all those who live, work and worship here, we can see the communities which make up our Borough transformed, our churches grow and our witness be strengthened.
